Pizza Savai – There are very few pizza restaurants in Nottingham, even fewer that are not chains (e.g Pizza Hut, Pizza Express), but Pizza Savai, a place hidden in the City Centre is a fantastic place to dine, whether it be lunch or dinner. Like many Pizza restaurants, Savai does not serve solely Pizza dishes, yet serves a number of dishes, mainly based around Italian cuisine, including Pasta and Spaghetti, plus other dishes including Steak and Chicken. All food is prepared fresh, and dependent on the day, if ordering Pizza, you may see it being made fresh by the Chefs. Service at Savai is fantastic; the owners are frequently at front of house, making conversation with customers, whilst the Waiters and Waitresses know that the customer comes first. Although not as well advertised as many other restaurants in Nottingham, this works to Savai’s advantage, as many of the customers become regulars and therefore establish a repoire with the place and the staff.

Saltwater – Saltwater Bar and Restaurant is always a bit of a treat and is considered by many to be one of the best restaurants in Nottingham. Surprisingly, the food is not my own personal reason for the love I have for it, but rather the atmosphere and setting (it reminds me of Tonic restaurant in Nottingham too). Don’t get me wrong, the food is great, the menu specializing in Western cuisine; traditional European dishes and unsurprisingly, Fish dishes. However, as I said, my favourite part of Saltwater is the atmosphere and setting. Residing on one of the higher floors in the Cornerhouse, Saltwater has an outside balcony area that cannot be beaten by many of the restaurants in Nottingham. Out on the balcony itself you have a view of the Nottingham skyline, which is especially fantastic during Christmas time when the Market Square has the Ice rink set up and decorations are up lighting the night time sky. What I have sometimes found in restaurants in Nottingham is that occasionally the clientele can be loud and troublesome; however it does not seem so in Saltwater, possibly because equallogic prices for certain meals can go into the region of £25 . However, If you are not willing to pay these kind of Equallogic Prices, you should stop in for a drink (the cocktails are especially great), and check the place out.

Flaming Dragon – Again situated in the Cornerhouse, Flaming Dragon is one of my favourite Chinese Restaurants in Nottingham to dine out at. However, unlike Saltwater, Flaming Dragon does not have such a consistent reputation. Many people I have spoken to find that it is not to their taste, however, this is my list, and therefore, Flaming Dragon stays on. A wide variety of Chinese food covers the menu and the portions are plentiful. There is not much to choose from, if you do not like Chinese, yet it has been many years since I found a Chinese restaurant (not take-away) that served the likes of Fish and Chips. Flaming Dragon do an all you can eat buffet for under £10, which is great if all you want to do is eat, however, I do warn you, the food prepared for the buffet is not in the same quality as the food prepared for singular meals.
